Mr. Mawlawi Abdulshakoor Haqani was born in Afghanistan, where he received his early education in traditional Islamic studies alongside general religious instruction. From a young age, he showed a strong inclination toward religious scholarship and public service, which shaped his later involvement in academic and administrative roles. His formative years were influenced by Afghanistan’s social and political conditions, contributing to his understanding of governance, diplomacy, and community leadership. Over time, this foundation prepared him for responsibilities in religious, educational, and diplomatic affairs.
He pursued his higher education in fields relevant to diplomacy and public administration, equipping him with the academic foundation necessary for a career in international relations, governance, and consular affairs.
H.E. Sayed Ahmad Umerkhil has served Afghanistan in various diplomatic and administrative capacities. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in consular services, community engagement, and institutional coordination, with a particular focus on protecting the rights and interests of Afghan nationals overseas. His experience reflects a strong dedication to professionalism, transparency, and service to the Afghan diaspora.
Currently, H.E. Sayed Ahmad Umerkhil serves as the Acting Ambassador of Afghanistan in Jeddah, overseeing diplomatic and consular affairs within his jurisdiction. In this role, he works closely with Afghan community members, Saudi authorities, and relevant institutions to ensure effective consular services, strengthen bilateral engagement, and uphold the dignity and representation of Afghanistan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
